Public bug reported: Currently, network-manager isn't installed by default. Therefore, there is no WPA support. If you have only wireless acces with secure WPA access, you have to find a cable, configure it to have UNSECURE WEP access, and install network-manager, afterwards, one can only hope they set WPA back up, because WEP is unsecure as hell...
Now, you can say, "network-manager" is on the cd, you don't need internet for that, it's explained on the wiki, but how can one look at the wiki without internet?? Some say network-manager isn't installed by default because of some bugs, but what's worse, a bug that affects only a few people, or just ignoring all the WPA users?? I hope somebody who knows that network-manager is essential for a good OOTB-experience reads this... ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Network-manager should be installed by default https://launchpad.net/bugs/59014 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
