This is not a bug in language-selector.
There are two environment variables regarding language settings: LANG and
LANGUAGE.
LANGUAGE contains the dektop language, while LANG is for Text settings (if
LANGUAGE is not set, it will also set the dektop language). Some applications
seem to ignore the

Seems like a qt thing, because virtualbox-ose (wich is also made using
qt) has the same issue. Maybe it's possible to have qt apps have their
private LANG settings that work for them?
