Hmm. Bart said that a parted patch was forthcoming to make it not probe
CDs or floppies. However, that patch doesn't seem to be available yet,
and I don't know exactly what its interface would be so I'm reluctant to
try to guess at it myself.
Furthermore, the attached patch does not really seem
gparted (0.2.5-1.1ubuntu5) edgy; urgency=low

I just adapted a patch sent by Bart Hakvoort [EMAIL PROTECTED] to
upstream version cvs. This patch fix the bug for me.

I have the same problem.
Gparted freez on Scanning all devices... if floppy module is loaded. This
modules is loaded on bootup, even if I do not have any floppy device pluged.
(tested on the liveCD and on a fresh edgy install)
If I unload floppy module before launching gparted (sudo modprobe -r
