Avidemux crashes for me too. Here is how to reproduce the trouble:
I Load a *.VOB file generated with a conventional digital video camera, which
is stored under a secondary hard drive within the VIDEO_TS folder. I set the
'A' and 'B' marks in order to export a cropped portion to any format, such
I couldn't wait for this to be fixed, eventually switched to OpenShot,
turned out to be great choice.

Same here, on Maverick. The only time it does not crash on saving is
when there is some sort of incompatibility or other problem.
Unbearably infuriating.
