I believe this bug effects me as well. To test it without extensions, I
started firefox in safe mode by running 'firefox -safe-mode' which
disables extensions and found the same behavior. I tried epiphany-
browser and it did the same thing. Google's chrome browser did not have
the problem. One
Nice to hear that i am not to only user who have this problem at least.

I have the same bug. It doesn't seem to be related with Firefox. Same

i created a test user and checked if i can reproduce the issue from this account
but there it works all fine. then i switched back to my regular user and now it
seems
be fixed there too.
so i deleted the test user and his home directory again and will see
what happens...
the only graphical
hm...
now i surfed a while through the internet and tried to check
if still everything is fine but it isn't!
Now the same issue as before...
FireFox is running, i have 2 pages in seperate tabs, open a third one,
click on open file, choose a file and an other file as selected get opened.
i
what sort of file do you open? why would opening a file give a

it doesn't metter what filetype i try to open.
this time i choosed a simple txt file but a tar.gz file get opened who is
listed above the txt file
sometimes i click on a file and it opens me a directory who's on top of the
file list.
i just tried to open a file in firefox to reproduce the bug
so on lucid doing those:
- run firefox
- click file, open
- select a txt file in the gtk dialog and double click on it
the gtk fileselector selected files in displayed in firefox and no other
dialog is opened, can't confirm the issue

if this issue don't happens the txt get displayed regular in firefox
after doubleclick.
if it happens and for example that tar.gz file get opened than this
other dialog opens to choose with which application that file should be
opened cause that extensions isn't dedicated to firefox.
--
Tried to reproduce the same here and i got the same results as
Sebastien, if you have any extension enabled on firefox could you please
disable those and try with just the stock installation of it? could be
an extension causing the issue there, also tried the same with epiphany-
browser and works

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Please answer these questions:
* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* How do you get this dialog? That's not nautilus which is the filebrowser for

I tried to reproduce the bug by just opening a file in firefox
and it shows the same result.
firefox is open, i click on file, open file, doubleclick on a file on my desktop
and firefox opens an other file not that one i selected.
So i don't know which package exactly is buggy...
the screenshot
not sure what system you are using but it's not the standard ubuntu
dialog which has a left side list with standard locations, etc, it's
neither a nautilus or gtk issue

that's gtkfilechooser not nautilus. I cannot reproduce the issue here,
could you tell us a few easy steps in order to do so ? Is that
reproducible with another new user created on your system? Thanks for
the quick reply.
** Package changed: nautilus (Ubuntu) = gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu)
