Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-mplayer

Mozilla-mplayer-3.17(mplayerplug-in) will not play any embedded videos using
mozilla browser(not firefox). Yet, the same embedded videos play using firefox
and swiftfox. I'm using Kubuntu Dapper-6.0.6-1 fully updated. The exact error
message is upon clicking a blue-green icon in the middle of the mplayerplug-in
player screen: "Title: Default Plugin-This page contains information of a
type(application/x-mplayer2) that can only be viewed with the appropriate
Plug-in." If another video type is attempted, the message is the same only the
info in parenthesis changes to fit the video type attempting to play. This
issue dates back to Debian-Sid and has been persistent. I think the issue
began when Debian began supporting firefox(at the expense of mozilla browser)
and lies in Ari Pollak's hands.
This issues has ben posted(several times) on Debian, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, mplayer,
mplayerplug-in-develop user lists and in mozillaxine forum with no solution
forthcoming .
Ubuntu/Kubuntu should consider fixing this issue so that users of the so-called
userfriendly distro may use the browser of their choice without problems.
