Never had that issue before, but since the distro-upgrade to Meerkat two days ago, Konqueror launches dozens(!) of these windows whenever I open a new tab! And it takes 10-20 sec. to then load that window's content and for the task bar notifications to disappear. Something has changed

I'm having the same annoyance on edgy, it happens when running KDE applications like amarok. In the desktop file for HTTP Cache Cleaner (/usr/share/services/http_cache_cleaner.desktop) there is a line X-KDE- StartupNotify=false which probably avoids that the program appears in the window list in
