Do you still have that issue? Could you get a backtrace for of the panel hang?
After the hang:
- gdb -p $(pidof gnome-panel)
(gdb) thread apply all bt

So far with edgy I did not have that problem. As far as I am concerned
this can be closed...

Thanks for your bug report. Which version of Ubuntu and deskbar-applet
do you use? Can you copy the exact error message? Does ~/.xsession-
errors contain anything interesting? Do you have any idea how I could
try to reproduce the bug?

Importance:
I'm using ubuntu dapper and deskbar-applet-2.14.2
I don't get any error message when that happens - only the panel is unusable. I
actually don't know how to reproduce the bug yet, though I've tried to
investigate it quite a bit.
