It's funny how this works today, and didn't work yesterday - I have not
upgraded anything relevant I think. Both clicking (to open a web browser
window) and right-clicking (to copy and paste) works. Is this an
intermittent issue?

Same in Feisty, xchat-gnome 1:0.16-0ubuntu2. I would expect a browser
window to open when I click on the link, but nothing happens. I guess
this is caused by the same issue.
