Please update your Maverick install first: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Then remove/backup your xorg.conf file: sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak (you can revert with 'sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bak /etc/X11/xorg.conf' if you need to) And then reboot without any boot

alright, here is a report of everything that I can access from the live Maverick Alpha 2 image: boot options: -expert mode -nomodeset try w/o installing ESC out of boot splash, but I can't see any obvious errors during boot low graphics mode warning [Low graphics menu] - restart X -

Newest development: got it to boot to a live Gnome session by adding the 'xforcevesa' option to the boot parameters in addition to 'nomodeset'. However, now I am restricted to 1024x768 :( So, I got 10.10 Alpha 2 installed and I will run the apport-collect command to see what information I can
