I can't update to -ubuntu3:

I've managed to upgraded it by renaming /etc/init.d/mdadm* and renaming
them back afterwards
Removing then didn't work eather, and i had to rename them again, remove
the package, and remove the scripts for it to work.

on the same machine that had had a problem with the previous update.

Same as Holger Bauer here: no raid, but mdadm upgrade doesn't complete
beacuse mdadm-raid stop always fails.

I can also confirm this problem. Temporarily removing /etc/init.d/mdadm-
raid seems to have worked fine for me as well.
I suggest this get marked with a higher priority.

I'm also having this problem. It tries to stop my root raid, which of
course is impossible whilst it's in use.
A developer on irc said they need to disable the stop call in preinst.
and to check how they did it for version 2.5 in Debian.
Would have been nice too if we got a newer mdadm for edgy,
I managed to upgrade by moving /etc/init.d/mdadm-raid and replacing with
an empty script, upgrading and then moving it back.
