I get the same problem on my Asus v6j. Whenever I open up and then close powermanager, the brighness is lowered, although both the battery and AC power setting in powermanager are on 100%. This wasn't happening with an earlier version of powermanager. -- [edgy] guidance sets brightness to 60-70
