Yeah. None of those logs give any reason why Ubuntu chose to start in
low graphics mode — everything seems to be working fine.
Has this happened more than once, and does it still happen with a recent
livecd? There have been a number of important kernel graphics fixes
since alpha 2.

It happens every time I boot from the CD. I haven't tried alpha3 because of
the bug mentioned on this page:

But now I wonder: could it be the same bug, also present in alpha2?
I can try a standard Ubuntu if it would help.
