I have the same exact problem. This is a fresh Maverick install with all
the libraries installed via the repositories.
Ubuntu Maverick
python-clutter 1.0.2-1.0

python-gobject 2.21.5-0ubuntu3
python-gtk2 2.21.0-0ubuntu1
python 2.6.6
I'm not sure what other info would
In the new version of python-clutter 1.0.2-1.0 this problem is no exist.
