I installed latest Ubuntu 9.04 from scratch and the brightness and volume keys seem to work correctly without the need of compiling pana_acpi module. Though buttons for suspend, hibernation and battery level seem to be still not functional. Actually pana_acpi didn't support them too. I also tried

OK, firstly, I am pretty sure you dont need the kernel source, the headers will be fine. As of edgy kernel headers are installed by default. As long as you have build-essential (i.e. compiler) installed then you should not need to do anything. All i did was type make, and sudo make install The
