The file attached to comment #6 converts without errors on Ubuntu
12.04.1 and also displays in Evince without the abovementioned error.

This causes a segmentation fault for me with the poppler-utils package
currently in Maverick Meerkat, 0.14.3-0ubuntu1.1, but when run against
pdftotext from the latest poppler git commit, there is no segmentation
fault. So presumably this has been fixed upstream already.
