[Bug 628097] Re: Maverick ubiquity windows can not be resized/maximized

All my pc's are multi-boot with multiple partitions and a couple have two hard drives, let alone the USB hard drive. That one has 3 or more partitions on 3 hard drives which s a real pain with Natty. Natty's partitioner is like looking through a gun slit and since the partitions are not shown in

@ jerrylamos, I subscribed you so you'll hopefully see this. I started a new bug report - bug 728615 - which I think is more appropriate to this. You'll notice there I mentioned, the fixed size manual partitioning window running offscreen (aka: not fitting) with certain small screens. And I

This is by design. The installer employs some complex layouts and the most straightforward and reliable way to accomplish this is to force the window to a fixed size. The slideshow should never be cut off. If it is in Natty, please file a separate bug for that. The advanced partitioner is a

Could the bootloader option string be changed so at least 5 or 6 device designations could appear in the partition preparation section? Would it perhaps be possible to hide the bootloader options under a button? Then have that button open a new window like the Advanced button used to do on the

Oh, I'm intent on shortening that string down to its previous size. I think the new text is superfluous. I'll have a look at the UI and see if we can make any more room for the treeview, possibly by fixing a longstanding bug in the partition bar that causes it to calculate its padding

I know this is only wishlisted at my request but it is now difficult to adequately see the existing partition arrangement when using the manual install option. I created a comparison between Lucid's manual option and Natty/Mavericks so you can see what I'm talking about. ** Attachment added:

Just testing the Natty pre-Alpha1 i386 Live CD and thought it worth mentioning that particularly the manual partitioning window would be much easier to use if it were possible to maximize or resize it. Really more of a wish list item so apologies in advance. -- You received this bug

During testing of the Ubuntu 10.10 Beta CD on a 1280x800 display, not all of the text in the slideshow is visible, and there are no handles to scroll, and the window can not be resized. I believe this bug is still a problem. Not a major problem however it will make ubuntu look unprofessional to

I just download/installed 64-bit 10.10 beta today and have same issue as Mark booting CD live with defaults on 1080p HDTV (1920x1080) then installing from there. I didn't really notice anything with the other windows, but the text slideshow during install was chopped off on the right. I could
