I had this problem also, after installing libgio-cil it started up fine.
It appears to be a dependency problem.

libgio2.22-cil did

I am having the same problem. installing libgio-cil yields the same
results. Installing libgio2.22-cil causes Banshee to close itself after
launching it. The Banshee interface shows up briefly, and disappears.

Ive the same issues..BUT, Im running Ubuntu 10.10 with 2.6.32-24-generic
kernel.
The newer kernel made Wine angry.

Fixed in banshee 1.7.5-0ubuntu2. Thanks for the report. About docky,
make sure you are using the version from the repositories, and satisfy
all dependencies from there. It should work fine.
