I'm closing this bug since wlassistant is no longer available in the
latest Ubuntu repositories. It no longer exists in Intrepid or Jaunty
repos.

FWIW: It's not the primary task of a distro to add features to
applications. That the primary task up the wlassistant
developers. Only IMHO, no flameware please ;)
Wireless is unfortunately not the strong side of the
linux kernel :(

There one common pitfall with knetworkmanager:

I thought about using knetworkmanager but seeing as I would have to set
up the network manually in the interfaces file to install
knetworkmanager anyway I would already have a working network.

If you are using WPA, as i do, why not use knetworkmanager? Hopefully
knetworkmanager will replace wlassistant when it gets more mature.
