Marking this as fix released as it is working fine for me right now in both KDE 3 and KDE 4 on Hardy and Gutsy. I do remember a similar issue I had when copying and pasting the umlaut in the past, but it is working right now. If you feel this is still an issue, I urge you to reopen this report with
