PROBLEM SOLVED. I just figured out that using the OpenDNS server numbers in network manager was blocking my ability to print. I switched back to default (no OpenDNS) and printing works fine now. Please delete are mark this as solved, thanks! -- Unable to connect to CIFS host post maverick

From the information that you have provided it does appear that your desktop is experiencing a more general network issue when connecting to the printer rather than a Samba specific issue. Please update this bug with any further information that you have once you have tested using a 10.04 livecd.

UPDATE: I am able to find the printer and install it from a LiveCD of Ubuntu 10.04.1. The Ubuntu 10.04.1 LiveCD found the printer at: smb://NET/Printer whereas installed versions find it at: smb://MSHOME/NET/Printer So, I decided to go back into my Maverick beta here and try to find the printer
