I have not seen this problem with Thunderbird 2.x (running on Hardy),
but that may be due to different mail setup - just IMAP.
We'll not be able to follow up the 1.5 bug. Please report a bug using
the automatic crash reporting (apport) if this still occurs with TB 2.x.

Sorry for the lack of follow up all that time
Yes, the problem is still present: when I enable assistive technology,
Thunderbird segfault right after startup (which is I believe when it
check emails -it's configured to download new emails on startup).

Thank you for the bug report, we are aware of the problems with Orca
when used with Mozilla software, I am going to subscribe Henrik Omma to
this report too, he is helping to iron out these problems with the Orca
