Can you verify that this issue still exists with the latest Maverick
kernel? You can get the latest updates kernel, the latest proposed kernel
and/or the latest pre-proposed kernel. There have been quite a few patches
since this bug was initially opened.

ATTENTION!!!
This is a major kernel problem and should be HIGH PRIORITY- the bug does
not only affect skype but affects critical programs- such as Evolution
Mail, PITIVI Video Editor and Crossover Pro Linux, something appears to
be blocking the initialization scripts for all these programs!!! It
Not sure what I did, Evolution Mail is working again. Other problems
still persist. Don't think its a major kernel problem and probably over
reacted so I apologise. Still a problem though. Those particular
programs are important for my operating system.
