Not a pyyaml bug.You have an unpackaged version installed. In current
development release pyyaml no longer uses python-central.

package python-yaml 3.09-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed
post-installation script
I just went with the defaults the crash applet selected as pyyaml was
incidental to the package I was installing: python-nltk.
Sorry if this was the incorrect thing to do, or wasted anyones time.
