David Balažic, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
With 10.04 dekstop i386 live environment, the resolution is correct on
the laptops builtin monitor and on an external Hyundai W241D.
The monitor from the original report was not tested, I'll do that later.

I boot the live environment from an USB stick, using the
ubuntu-10.10-desktop-i386.iso
The desktop comes up in 1024x768 instead of the monitor
The problem still happens, when the laptop lid is closed and an external
monitor is connected.
