Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic

The new kernel package linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic with kernel
2.6.17-10.33 has some broken soundcard modules for this soundcard:

$ lspci|grep audio

00:0b.0 Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies Inc. VT1720/24
[Envy24PT/HT] PCI Multi-Channel Audio Controller (rev 01)

When you try to load the appropriate modules, you get this messages:

[17180271.424000] snd_ice17xx_ak4xxx: Unknown symbol snd_akm4xxx_init
[17180271.424000] snd_ice17xx_ak4xxx: Unknown symbol snd_akm4xxx_build_controls
[17180271.424000] snd_ice1724: Unknown symbol snd_ice1712_akm4xxx_init
[17180271.424000] snd_ice1724: Unknown symbol snd_ice1712_akm4xxx_free
[17180271.424000] snd_ice1724: Unknown symbol snd_akm4xxx_reset
[17180271.424000] snd_ice1724: Unknown symbol snd_ice1712_akm4xxx_build_controls

So the modules don't get loaded and the soundcard doesn't work. With the
kernel before (2.6.17-10.31) the modules and the soundcard worked fine.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.17 (Ubuntu)
