Using version 2.6.35-24.201012271600 of the Alsa driver module, I am
able to get an external microphone (but not the internal mic) to work
correctly.
I'm about to reboot and try today's (28th) patch.

I am also experiencing this problem with Ubuntu 10.10 on my Sony Vaio VPCF12S1E
Both on 2.6.35-22-generic and 2.6.35-23-generic.
No mic is working. Neither the built in to the left of the camera nor line in.
How did you solve it? Please define applying the latest dev ALSA
modules :D
