Public bug reported: If I configure a PXE netboot for Live session like this:
label live menu label ^Live session boot kernel vmlinuz append boot=casper netboot=nfs nfsroot=192.168.1.1:/mnt2 initrd=initrd.lz the network manager applet does not launch at all. If I install it onto a computer, the resulting install will have dbus and nm-applet broken (nm-applet won't launch) and this can't be fixed by reinstalling those packages. Ubiquity does mention something about dbus failing to be set up in its 'details' console. However, if I install using any of these other methods: * Live CD * Live USB * Netboot CLI install * Alternate CD the install works fine. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: If I configure a PXE netboot for Live session like this: label live - menu label ^Live session boot - kernel vmlinuz - append boot=casper netboot=nfs nfsroot=192.168.1.1:/mnt2 initrd=initrd.lz + menu label ^Live session boot + kernel vmlinuz + append boot=casper netboot=nfs nfsroot=192.168.1.1:/mnt2 initrd=initrd.lz - and I install it onto a computer, the resulting install will have dbus - and nm-applet broken and this can't be fixed by reinstalling those + the network manager applet does not launch at all.
