Public bug reported: I am using Kubuntu 10.10 AMD64, fully up-to-date. Everything works well, except for my graphics card. I have a Radeon X1250, and whenever I try to load the KWin desktop effects, things crash. Before the last kernel update, they would run for maybe 1-5 minutes before crashing, but with the latest update, X is crashing before they even initialize. Graphics acceleration is working well, and in fact things run (though slowly) using XRender.
I do not know where to begin in reporting this bug. I can confirm that I'm not the only one; see: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1594240 I am going to see if it is only a problem on AMD64 systems, but would like to see this fixed. I will try to wait for a few days before installing 32 bit to help troubleshoot if need be. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kwin radeon -- KWin+Radeon+Latest Kernel AMD64 Constantly Crash https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663660 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
