The package 'language-pack-en-base' install the en-GB language pack for Firefox (along en, en-AU, and en-CA). When en-GB is selected, and the other language packs are disabled, the titles in Firefox are trimmed. With en-GB, the title of a page is: Page title-Mozilla Firefox (Note the absence of space around the -) With other language packs, the title of a page is: Page title - Mozilla Firefox The same happens with the view source title bar. This becomes: Source of:http://www.example.org-Mozilla Firefox Other en* language packs installed by Ubuntu, and the en-GB language pack by Mozilla show the correct title. Step to reproduce: 1. Open Firefox 2. Go to menu Tools > Add-ons > Languages 3. Disable all language packs expect en-GB 4. Restart Firefox 5. Observe the language pack is used, by Help > About Version information: Ubuntu version: 10.10 language-pack-en-base version: 1:10.10+20100930 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: firefox 3.6.11+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.35-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Oct 21 14:55:16 2010 FirefoxPackages: firefox 3.6.11+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1 firefox-gnome-support 3.6.11+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1 firefox-branding 3.6.11+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.10.1 abroswer N/A abrowser-branding N/A InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_GB.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: firefox ** Affects: language-pack-en-base (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- Firefox with language en-gb: no space in title bar around hyphen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664480 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
