Public bug reported:

The Linux kernel appears to have a bug that causes it to crash when
Google Chrome is launched multiple times. This bug was also present in
Ubuntu Karmic.

I can reproduce this problem consistently by starting Google Chrome, and
then (for example) clicking on a URL in another application such as
liferea or pidgin, which causes another instance of Chrome to start
(which should then create a new tab in the existing Chrome instance).
Every time this happens, my laptop locks up hard.

If all instances of Google Chrome are started with google-chrome --no-
sandbox, then the problem does not occur. However, this is obviously a
kernel issue, because no userspace application should cause the kernel
to crash.

Thanks,

Paul
