What's strange is that I had Pulseaudio installed on both my laptop and my desktop. After the upgrade on my desktop, I've got the one volume control applet. But after upgrading my laptop, I've got the volume control applet and also the null pulseaudio applet. -- PulseAudio Applet has no icon

I guess, the submitter meant the package padevchooser aka PulseAudio Device Chooser, which uses (at least according to /usr/share/applications/padevchooser.desktop) Icon=stock_line_in as icon. -- PulseAudio Applet has no icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668308 You received this bug
