I am on feisty with an Asus a6V laptop, the solution of this bug is
explained at Bug #99516 ...
but there is still a problem when you want to configure that by system
settings :S

Desired resolution added to xorg.conf modeline (1400x1050)... and HO, it
worked...
Most stupid bug ever... but hey it works now so whatever...
