I added a link to the upstream bug report. Also, the affected package
seems to be kicker instead of kdebase.

Just did an upgrade from dapper to edgy and can verify that this is
still an issue. Description (Name) properly uses the ()s but Name
(Description) leaves them out.

I can confirm this behavior in current edgy/i386 and edgy/ppc.
Must be a bug. And it should be fixed before release, if possible, as this is
the default setting in kubuntu.

After upgrading to KDE 3.5.5 from 3.5.4, the menu scheme for Name
(Description) (you can choose that option from K Menu - System
Settings - Panel - Panels - Menus - Menu item format) is not working
as expected, it's printing Name
