Public bug reported:

I updated my system from dapper to edgy.

Now I can't boot my computer if I try to use the kernel I used in dapper
(2.6.15-27-686) or the newest generic kernel the system installed during
the update (2.6.17-10-generic).

I can, however, boot my system if I choose a 386 kernel (2.6.17-10-386).

The last error messages I get are (while running in recovery mode):

/etc/mdadm/mdadm.con: No such file or directory
Waiting for root file system

But nothing happens. I can reboot my computer using ctrl-alt-del (the
system shutdowns normally)
