Public bug reported: I updated my system from dapper to edgy.
Now I can't boot my computer if I try to use the kernel I used in dapper (2.6.15-27-686) or the newest generic kernel the system installed during the update (2.6.17-10-generic). I can, however, boot my system if I choose a 386 kernel (2.6.17-10-386). The last error messages I get are (while running in recovery mode): /etc/mdadm/mdadm.con: No such file or directory Waiting for root file system But nothing happens. I can reboot my computer using ctrl-alt-del (the system shutdowns normally) Thank you. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Boots fails after upgrade to edgy if using generic or 686 kernel https://launchpad.net/bugs/68548 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
