Tried reverting wine to edgy and changing graphics driver in xorg from via to vesa. Screen works, wine works, but performance is totally unacceptable. Only acceptable workaround until compatibility issues are resolved is to use dapper package. -- Wine freezes machine on Edgy with VIA unichrome
