Public bug reported: I do a Samba-mount through /etc/rc.local. This mount is visible when issuing the mount command: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ mount //lin01/public on /mnt/lin01 type smbfs (rw)
However, this mount is not visible on the desktop (though gconf-editor -> nautilus -> desktop -> volumes_visible is set to true), nor is it in the 'Places' list of Nautilus. The workaround: browse to the mountpoint, i.e. /mnt/lin01 and create a (Nautilus-) bookmark. Detected on Edgy, this is working on Dapper. Volume-mounts of an usb-disk works as expected (icon on the desktop, entry in Places-list). Possibly related to https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/35147 in which a demand is set for dividing network shares and temporary shares like an usb-disk. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Volume mount not visible https://launchpad.net/bugs/68944 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
