When adding a torrent, Transmission becomes unresponsive. Trying to close
says it's running but not responding, system monitor says it's a Zombie.

Same problem here.
Distro: Ubuntu 10.04
Uname: 2.6.32-27-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP
Architecture: i386
Tested with Transmission 1.93 (lucid-updates) and 2.13 (transmissionbt
ppa).
File size is 4Gb and the partition is ext4 with encryption (ubuntu's
default, created during install).
Transmission
i'm using Transmission with many laptops and i have both :
Transmission 2.13 (11501)
and
Transmission 2.04
and the issue is the same with both versions
