I have installed natty and tested krb5-telnetd: the problem does not
occur in this version.
Do you plan to update the 10.04 package of krb5-appl as well?

(11.04). The Natty version of krb5-appl is 1.0.1-1 and maverick and
lucid had 1.0~alpha1-1 .
