Now I can't reproduce it. I guess that if you set ~/pbuilder read only
or set owner as another user than you then pbuilder-dist will show you
error.

I saw this discussion on IRC, but the error messages you quoted aren't
in the pbuilder-dist source.
Can you please be more clear about what permission was incorrect and
what error you were getting?
