This is still an unresolved issue on a fresh install of Ubuntu 20.04
(preview). Jack sense on my SB0880 is nonexistent whatsoever in ALSA.

I almost forgot: symptoms are identical with 2.6.35-24-generic and the
reporting kernel 2.6.37 from Linus' git. I can provide the -35 reports
as well if necessary and see what diff tells me about them.
