Public bug reported: Hello! My problem is that I can’t seem to disable offloading of various network operations (checksumming in particular) on my network adapter:
$ sudo ethtool -K eth0 rx off Cannot set device rx csum settings: Operation not supported According to hwinfo, my adapter uses the atl1e driver: 72: None 00.0: 10701 Ethernet [Created at net.124] Unique ID: usDW.ndpeucax6V1 Parent ID: rBUF.1owu3FJlCU9 SysFS ID: /class/net/eth0 SysFS Device Link: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.5/0000:02:00.0 Hardware Class: network interface Model: "Ethernet network interface" Driver: "ATL1E" Driver Modules: "atl1e" Device File: eth0 HW Address: 00:22:15:95:14:b8 Link detected: yes Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown Attached to: #32 (Ethernet controller) I’m not quite familiar enough with kernel development to figure out the exact situation, but I notice a patch exists that claims to enable this feature; the commit ac936929092dc6a5409b627c4c67305ab9b626b3 should enable one to find it. I can’t tell if this is applied and doesn’t work or if it’s not part of our kernels.
