As Joe pointed out in the bug report, this is probably fixed in the
latest mutagen release.
Update the python-mutagen package using the QL stable PPA
https://launchpad.net/~lazka/+archive/ppa
or install the package directly:

Your procedure did not solve the problem. So it is probably another bug.
I attach the original file from 2010 and the one after the force
rewrite. If needed I can send more examples.
