Could you look at ~.config/pcmanfm/lubuntu/ if there is a pcmanfm.conf file ? If not , try to modify a settings in pcmanfm to generate the file, and attached this file to the bug report please. I done the test on maverick with pcmanfm 0.9.8, and it's working. Maybe it's a problem with the
