Now I've upgraded to the new Ubuntu release (11.04) and nothing changes,
it still fail to resume from hibernation. Hope it helps.

Hibernating from text mode
No differences after trying pm-hibernate with no_console_suspend in the

Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up?
If I use a swap file located on the filesystem it never hibernates.
After the installation of a real swap partition my machine goes to sleep
but when I try to wake up it ask me to login as if no hibernation has

After creating a real swap partition it does half of the work. Now it's
capable of shutdown the computer after hibernating but when I turn on
the computer it doesn't go back to the previous state. Instead of that
it restart as if no hibernation has been done.
