I tried installing the Fesity package on the off-chance it might work on
Edgy, however there are failed dependencies. I don't want to upgrade to
Feisty until it is stable!
I extracted the .deb file manually, however, and it seems to work
alright. The bug (crash on export) is fixed in 0.6-3.

Yes, libc6-dev is installed (latest version). I compiled by creating a
symolic link called Makefile to Makefile.linux, and then running make.

libc6-dev is installed? implicit declaration of function ´setlocale´
sounds like a missing libc6-dev. How did you compile? Using dpkg-
buildpackage/debuild or just make? easychem built fine on all
architectures in Debian Sid. No FTBFS.

Sorry about that, I see now. I've tried downloading the 0.6-3 patch and
applying it to the source, but now it fails to compile, giving me the
error:
bonds.c: In function ‘save_list_bonds’:
bonds.c:1518: warning: implicit declaration of function ‘setlocale’
bonds.c:1518: error: ‘LC_NUMERIC’

No, I think it is a different bug. The bug you linked to above implies the

actually sees the export dialog box :-
No. Read the rest of the bug-report. The first part is about a

EasyChem crashes without warning after selecting a filename for the
exported file and clicking 'OK'
However for me EasyChem crashes before showing the export dialog box.
Also,
This has been already reported via Debian BTS http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=380210. The fix will be released to Debian
soon. Then it should be easy to synch the fixed package from Debian.
