Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kaffeine

kaffeine 1.1-0ubuntu1 @Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick)

When (gnome’s) power saving settings are active, kaffeine will not prevent
these, when watching movies / TV. As a result, the screen blanks and no more
video is displayed until an input event is triggered.
I’m not sure how this is handled technically, but I guess kaffeine should (when
displaying video) notify the power manager to prevent screen blanking. (In case
it already does the bug will be on the power manager side, not noticing /
ignoring this)

** Affects: kaffeine (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
