I can't reproduce this in Hardy. The Problematic pdf file prints fine
from evince to printer (Xerox Phaser 8560) or to PDF (whole document or
a selection of pages)
It doesn't seem to be an issue anymore in Hardy.

I'm able to print a one page pdf in hardy, but I haven't tried larger
pdf's. However pdftops is still broke.

So not sure if this specific defect is still valid. I can print from
evince on hardy.

I have a similar issue. Though I can print the whole pdf document in
evince, there is no chance to select pages. Neither 197-208 nor
197,198,... works here. It is the same problem with Acrobat reader.
Maybe it is a driver problem ( I have an HP Laserjet 4L and use the
recommended HP LaserJet 4L
I tried now to first print the selection to a PDF file and then print
that file (which just contains the selected pages) - It works this way.

printing this pdf to a file produces a ps file which is not shown both
by evince as well as gs-esp. And this output.ps fails to be converted to
pdf using ps2pdf.
