Public bug reported:
With a fresh edgy install on a Compaq nc6120 laptop, if you plug a
headphone, the sound will still come from the speakers.
The solution is simple : in gnome-volume-properties, check the
"Headphone jack sense" box.
It must be done by default in the installation.
