Low improtance since kio slaves get terminated after some seconds (10-20 IIRC)
so one would have to close/leave the file and immediately umount the device.
As a matter of fact ejecting should be prefered anyway, and I think ejecting
will kill the kio slave before umounting.

This is still occurring in KDE 3.5.9 on Hardy, however the only way to
get kio_tar to stop is to kill it. It doesn't die on its own, at least
for me it didn't. Bad news for KDE 4 on this. Even though it is no
longer kio_tar in KDE 4, even though you access it the same, it is now
kio_archive with
OK, it does quit after a certain amount of time.

The kio_tar process which is created when .ZIP files are opened inside
konqueror does not terminate when konqueror window is closed. This is a
serious problem when removable media are involved. When archives inside
removable media are opened, and kio_tar does not terminate,
